We are counting down how many sleeps until Halloween. Eirica told us only 4 more!! Today, we made pumpkin still life paintings of our pumpkin before we carve it tomorrow. We also did some reflecting on our environment as we noticed lots of dramatic play happening in our reading center. To honour the students play, we moved the reading center closer to our dramatic play center and made our safe spot bigger and more quiet. So far so good... Tomorrow is crazy hair day. We can't wait to see all the crazy hair creations!!! Just a friendly reminder that healthy snacks are much appreciated to help the students with their learning. God Bless! Happy Monday. Welcome back. Mme B is with our friends in the morning this week. This morning we spoke about the word "content" and drew pictures of what makes us happy. Mrs. Shackleton told the children about this week's gospel and how Jesus healed a blind man. To build on this lesson she made glasses with the students which they decorated with things they love to see. Check out the spirit week activities going on this week. As well, if you have not paid your activity fee, please send it in as soon as possible as we are sending them to the office for collection. Merci!!! Happy Wednesday. Our room is a buzz full of Halloween excitement and vocabulary. Today, we read the book "qui viendra hanter ma maison?". This book reinforced our new French vocabulary and inspired lots of French writing this afternoon. We are looking for old Tupperware, buckets, trucks, old pots and pans and old wooden spoons for our outdoor classroom. If you can donate these items it would be greatly appreciated. In math, we are focusing on patterns, especially those we see in nature. If you happen to notice any patterns occurring in the environment please point them out to your child. Pictures are most welcome too!!! Today was picture day. Our little bunnies looked so sweet in their finest smiles. We are sending home a form today for Food and Beverage at St. Stephen. If you are interested, please fill out and return to school as soon as possible. The deadline is Oct. 23rd. We have school clothing for sale. You can come into our front office and check out what is avaible and pricing. Order forms are available. You can check out our website for further info. Have a wonderful weekend. God Bless! Happy Hump day. We have lots of fun things happening in our Kinder class. To build on our sunflower decomposition, Mme B brought in a mortar and pestle to pound the seeds to see what happens. She also brought in some spices to grind with it. What a lovely smell it created in our class. Smelled just like Fall! Our friends are still having a blast in our restaurant. Matthew was a server and made his own tables to serve his customers. Aidan's grandmother donated Halloween playmobile and it is a big hit. It really promotes fine motor skills and we love listening to the imaginative play it promotes. Picture Day is this Friday. Don't forget your smiles. We hope everyone had a nice long weekend with their family. Mrs. Shackleton went home to visit her family up north and Mme B stayed at home with her boys. We are happy to be back with our Kinders. Our friends are so excited about Halloween and we are learning some new French songs and new French vocabulary. Check out your child's sign in today to see their spooky Halloween pictures. We are also interested in seasonal changes, and Bas noitced that our sunflowers were "dying" and wanted to know what was inside. So, we used scissors to take them apart and noticed there were seeds inside. Stay tuned to see what we do with those seeds... Please note that school activity fees are now being collected. (30.00) You can pay online by visiting our school website or pay by cheque. Thanks! We are still looking for items for our fancy restaurant. We are in need of old small plates, cups, vases and utensils. Merci!!! Today Mrs. Shackleton spoke to the children about following in the footsteps of Jesus and they made a "Come Follow Me Arrow" to show their love for Jesus. |

I am learning so much from our students and look forward to each school day to see what new inquiries will emerge and grow! Archives
