In creative art, many of the students decided to make "spy glasses" out of paper towel rolls and took them out at recess to see if they worked. Owen told me he could see the moon! WOW!
Insects are still a big topic in our room with many of our friends looking for them during outdoor play. Today we found a beetle.
We finished measuring ourselves on the carpet with blocks and the class average is... 8! We also worked on numeral recognition to 10 with the JKs and to 20 with the SKs. This is a great activity to do at home. Just use dice and ask your child to count the dots and point to the number which corresponds to it. Dice are a great learning tool. You can also add sets up to 6 with them.
Tomorrow is our Scientists in the School, "Backyard Bugs" presentation. I know the students will be so excited to see all the insects they have been learning about over the last few weeks.
