We have been focusing on comparing multiplicative sets in math. This is the foundation of multiplication. When students feel comfortable with seeing numbers in groups then they understand the "how" and "why" behind multiplication. Basically, we are laying the foundation of future mathematical reasoning.
Mrs. Shackleton has been focusing on Easter and now we are preparing for the "month of Mary". We have been practising "love one another" and will be making flags this week to show our love for each other.
In French, we have been talking about signs of spring, colours, the verb "aimer" and practising sounding out beginning phonemic sounds of words and trying to expand to blends.
Music and movement Fridays are still ongoing. Last week we read Eric Carle's "I see a song" and then played Vivaldi's Four Seasons (Spring) to inspire our art. We saw so many fascinating interpretations of the music on paper. This week, I will introduce the children to the concept of reading music by colour coding musical notes to colours.
